27th November featuring Hannah and the Buoys plus floor spots

Winter is coming it’s our last folk event of the year – the last Thursday of December is Xmas Day, so nothing on that day obvs!

On last featured act is fabulous local folk act Hannah and the Buoys and there will also be plenty of slots available for anyone who wants to sing a song, play a tune, or read a poem – all acoustic and unamplified in true folk club style, of course!

Although entry is free, we have a suggested donation of £5 if you like what you hear.

25th September featuring Basia Bartz plus floor spots

Hi all,

We are back after our summer break and ready to folk things up again!

Our 25th September show will be firing on cylinders, with its featured act Basia Bartz, a wonderful player and singer.

As a violinist Basia has recorded and performed with many London based singer songwriters and bands, and started writing and performing her own compositions and arrangements of folk songs in 2019. She is currently in the process of recording her first full length album.

As always, there will also be plenty of slots available for anyone who wants to sing a song, play a tune, do a dance or read a poem – all acoustic and unamplified in true folk club style, of course!

Although entry is free, we have a suggested donation of £5 if you like what you hear, all of which goes to the main act.

31st July featuring George McNaughton Ellis plus floor spots

Hi all,

We’re coming up to our last show before we break for August, so head on down!

On 31st July show has at its featured act George McNaughton Ellis, a folk singer and guitarist from South-East London and co-founder and organiser of the Hill Station Folk Night on Telegraph Hill. He’ll be playing a variety of folk songs, with old and new stories all richly told with history and place at their heart!

Spring is finally here and we’re bringing more folk alongside the sunshine!

On 29th May our featured act is Cinnabar, a singer/guitar duo formed in the hallowed halls of the Standard’s British Oak pub. Covering folk and quirky blues, with the odd nineteenth century pop song thrown in, eclectic is definitely the word.

Deptford Folk Night 27th March – Gordon Robertson plus floor spots!

Good morrow all, and yes you heard right, we’ve got an other Deptford Folk Night on 27th March, nothing stops the machine!

This month is going to be another local folk stalwart, Gordon Robertson.

Gordon is a multi-instrumentalist and singer who plays a wide variety of folk and traditional music, including Irish/Scottish jigs, reels, hornpipes etc, French balfolk dance tunes and who knows what else!

Deptford Folk Night 27th February – Panama Dave Parrett plus floor spots!

Dry January is over (lol) we’ve got another great night down at the Endeavour after a super-successful January gig.

We had a great 2024 and so we’re naturally aiming to make it even slightly better in 2025.

Our first featured act is fingerstyle guitarist Panama Dave Parrett.

Panama Dave is a guitarist and stalwart of the London live scene with a unique style that envokes a wide range of moods and feelings, drawing on classical, folk, blues, rock and jazz.

Deptford Folk Night 30th January – Duncan McTaggert plus floor spots!

Happy New Years folks! We’re back bigger and better than ever (we mean it!)

We had a great 2024 and so we’re naturally aiming to make it even slightly better in 2025.

Our first featured act of the year, on 30th January, is folk aficionado Duncan McTaggert.

Duncan is a traditional musician and multi-instrumentalist, playing original arrangements of old–sometimes obscure–trad songs.

He can always be found at the Folk of the Round Table singaround in Peckham and we’re happy to hijack him for Deptford!
