Saturday 7th June featuring Caz Forbes & Ste Moncrieff

Formerly known as The Raven, Caz Forbes and Ste Moncrieff perform traditional English folk songs in their own unique style. From beguiling ballads to stomping shanties they engage audiences with their own distinctive style firmly rooted in a love of the English tradition.  Their recent album The Green Lady, has received excellent reviews including Folk Radio UK, Bright Young Folk and Fatea Magazine.  They are also TOOTING FOLK regulars! 

Please note that this is the last TOOTING FOLK before the break for summer, the next one will be 13th September with Jim Causley.

There will also be floor spots as usual, so come along and sing a song! With or without an instrument, traditional or original. Or read a poem. Or do a dance.

Doors 7.30pm, music starts at 8pm. Upstairs at The Selkirk, Tooting Broadway.  Come along at 7.30pm to put your name down for floor spots. Entry is £3, all the door money goes to the guest act.

Saturday 26th April featuring Rattle On The Stovepipe (instead of 3rd May)

Rattle On The Stovepipe are Dave Arthur (5-string banjo, melodeon, guitar, vocals), Pete Cooper (fiddle and vocals) and Dan Stewart (5-string banjo, guitar and vocals). They’ve gained an enthusiastic folk club following with their mix of traditional songs, ballads and dance tunes from the British Isles and the Appalachian Mountains region of America. Their 2006 CD with Chris Moreton, ‘Eight More Miles’ (Wild Goose, WGS 333), and the 2009 ‘no use in cryin’ with Dan Stewart has spread their reputation more widely.
