Our guest act for March is newly formed folk band Bird In The Belly.
The group is formed of solo artist Jinnwoo, traditional folk duo Hickory Signals, multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom Pryor, and visual artist and musician Epha Roe. Together they have spent the last 12 months recording songs and stories that have either never before been recorded or are rarely recorded – all set to contemporary folk music, in the hopes of reintroducing these songs back into the folk canon.
There will of course be floor spots too! Those wishing to perform should come along at 7.30pm to put your name on the list. We welcome performers from all corners of the folk spectrum!
Doors 7.30pm, music starts at 8pm. Entry £5.
Upstairs at The Selkirk, 60 Selkirk Road, Tooting Broadway, London SW17 0ES

Singer & guitarist from the Midlands, now based in North Norfolk, Gemma’s arrangements of traditional songs emphasise the universal stories and themes found in folk traditions and sensitively draw out the richness and beauty of the old melodies. Her voice is captivating, stunning and unique.

Playing and singing tunes and songs from the Appalachian mountains of North America, Kieran’s fiddle weaves and pulses around Charlotte’s intricate banjo, mandolin and guitar. Their debut album of traditional and original instrumentals recieved high praise across the board, with their live set also containing a selection of traditional old time songs as well.
Please note we are not running a TOOTING FOLK night in December. The next one is Saturday 6th January and we have Kieran Towers & Charlotte Carrivick as guest act! Plus floor spots.

Whether singing, playing guitar, ukulele or mandolin , Angela Meyer & William Cox’s relaxed banter and gift for story telling makes their music both interesting and memorable. Their much anticipated second album ‘Dance of the Copper Trail’ (2017) is being hailed as their best work yet.
There will of course be floor spots too, so come along sing a song! We welcome performers from all corners of the folk spectrum. It is advisable to arrive at 7:30pm to put your name on the list.
